How do I capture a speaking audience without turning it into a pitch?

I keep speaking to corporate audiences and getting warm reactions — people line up, ask for my Instagram, say they want to work with me. Then it stops. My membership for leaders in Brazil is the offer I most want to grow, but I don’t know what I should be trying to capture in the room: the follow, the email, or the sale. I’ve tried one QR code to a free resource. Fourteen sign-ups, one became a member, and my team didn’t follow up the others for nine days. I don’t want to turn a keynote into an infomercial. What are you actually capturing when you speak, and how do you do it cleanly?

Separate the variables: the room, the follow-up, the offer. If your team can’t follow up in nine days, capturing emails won’t help; it just adds leads you burn. At my talks I give one specific next step — a diagnostic or a short email course — and I say it is for people who want to solve X, not “work with me.” The stage is for consent, not conversion. You can capture the email as long as the next email arrives within 48 hours with one question. But if you can’t fix that follow-up speed, don’t collect anything yet.

Why the asker chose this: This is the one I am acting on — thank you.

Just sell from stage. The ones who won’t buy there won’t buy later.

I tried selling from stage. Lots of interest, terrible completion. Capture email first, sell afterwards.

You’re fixing the wrong end. If your membership promise is broad “leadership,” no capture tweak saves it. I’d narrow the offer before you put another QR code on a slide.
