YouTube is eating delivery. Is it IP licensing or just a trailer?

Purpose
Decide whether YouTube should carry the media IP itself or only direct attention to it.

We already tested two membership modules as public YouTube edits. Conversion didn't move and delivery slipped, because that week went to cutting instead of fulfilment. Before I kill it: is the IP play on YouTube licensing, or is YouTube only a trailer for the real media? I need the first move.

Before you decide, which didn't move: conversion of new viewers to members, or existing members buying more? If it's new viewers, the edit is the ad — not the IP. Licensing only makes sense if the library has standalone value outside your membership. Don't make delivery pay for that test.

Is YouTube actually a conversion channel for you? Just gate the best parts. Public content trains free viewers.

Tested that. Failed until I switched to a hook-first edit and put the IP behind an opt-in. Want my checklist?
