Purpose
Decide whether to keep the content grind going while he builds the product side, or take a slower quarter and let the numbers dip.

I publish a paid membership out of Durban. 480 paying, all from cold social. It works until I skip two weeks of posting, then cancellations start. Those cancellations pay my rent so I cannot skip. My actual constraint is that growth eats the exact hours I need to productise the thing. Hiring the two people I need costs money I do not have until the thing is productised. So do I keep feeding the machine while I build, or slow both down and accept a bad quarter?

I run a self-paced course in Dublin. For me the posting never cost what I told myself it cost. What cost the money was my calendar being full of everything except the course. Two mornings a week off the feed, non-negotiable, and the course shipped.

Before I answer - which cost are you actually weighing? Lost subscribers in the next quarter, or the product never leaving your laptop? Those point to opposite decisions and you can only optimise one.

I did the opposite of what you're about to do. Slowed the posting to build a talk series, bookings dropped 40% and took seven months to return. Next time I'd build while posting, just uglier posting.

I tested stopping the feed for 30 days in January. Sign-ups fell 18%, cancellations stayed flat, and I shipped the first module. Small sample, one month, one business - but it did not kill me.
